Description
The original inspiration for this work has been the economic turmoil experienced worldwide since 2007. The aim is to make a statement on property prices in London which have seen considerable instability over recent years. The idea originates from the familiar yet the reality of buying property particularly in London is varied. There are differences between places and the artist’s intention was to draw attention to this. Images are extremely detailed and audacious colours have been utilized to create a visually unrealistic yet fun and bold architectural piece of art. The viewer will identify the familiar and understand the link with the theme. Colours are linked so that each image works with the next and the overall composition works together. Unlike traditional art where there is usually a single focal point, this contemporary piece results in as many focal points as there are images, which means that the piece provides detail to satisfy intellectual curiosity; and from a sea of colour to enhance the senses. The overall aim is to create a fun piece with a serious concept, where the visual language can be read in individual images, yet the total composition is pieced together to make a comprehensive, and fascinating artwork for the viewer.
